Tampere is the 3rd largest city in Finland and the largest inland city in Scandinavia.
The city is located on an isthmus between lakes Pyhäjärvi and Näsijärvi.
With over 200 lakes in the district, Tampere in an ideal area for canoeist.

According to a survey made in Finland in 2009, Tampere is considered as the most attractive tourist city in Finland. It was valued especially due to its accomodation and restaurant services, tourist attractions and amount of happenings.

For Europeans Tampere is easy to reach from Helsinki-Vantaa airport by bus (www.matkahuolto.fi) or by train (www.vr.fi). There are also flight connections directly to Tampere (Tampere-Pirkkala airport) from various destinations.

The Racing stadion is located in the eastern part of Tampere.

This stadion (Kaukajärvi Rowing and Canoeing Centre) is said
to be one of the best natural routes in the world with its nine
canoeing lanes.
The track and timing equipment, as well as
the other structures, are ideal for prominent
international competitions.
